a portrait of Kiyono
A portrait of Kiyono-san on the occasion of her misedashi (debut) as a maiko, from a photo I took in March 2013. Because she is a brand new maiko only her bottom lip is painted red. She is supposed to look cute, innocent and child-like at this stage in her maiko career. The sakura (cherry blossom) behind her, adds to the freshness of this new season. year 2015. sold
